I hate Adobe for quite a while for how difficult they made it to cancel subscriptions and the way they trick you into annual plans (they even charged me again for stuff I'm 100% sure I cancelled)... But this is the straw that broke the camel's back for me...! Will go with Davinci Resolve for anything Video related and probably Affinity Photo to replace Photoshop. And I already use Procreate to paint and sketch...

Adobe makes professional software for professionals. It's two dollars a day - for use of everything they make. Most professionals wouldn't drink a cup of coffee that costs that little. They offer deep student discounts... and twice a year on Amazing-bums, they sell a years sub for half price. Are they perfect... no, of course not. But 'evil' ...absolutely not. They're the industry winners, across most of the world. They make the software that fills your society with flashy advertising, of stuff you want to consume. They make the software that makes, the Capitalist West run smoothly. With the A.I. revolution, their time and yours ( if using their software ) is coming to an end. It is inevitable. A.I. will enable everyone, to be professionally enabled creatives. There will be new skills to learn... but 'writers' rather than purely visual creatives, may lead the way. It is a Gutenberg press revolution. Where producing 'art' will, be handed down for everyone to partake in and enjoy - equally. People have rarely used Adobe for charity work or as purely 'amateur creatives'. ( Adobe actually offer free licenses to registered charities ) There''s plenty of ( cheap or free ) creative software alternatives out there. Only if you want to be a 'Capitalist creative' feeding the Capitalist edifice, do you really need Adobe software. Those people that are desperate to be successful Capitalists... use Adobe. If you just want to make ‘art’ - there’re many alternatives out there. There is no 'evil' in Adobe's intentions or actions... they're just Capitalists, like every other successful company in the US. They’re in it for the money, those that buy into their software... are also in it... purely for the money. It is no great loss - for either Adobe or you.

The AI training thing is troublesome but compared to what followed next in the text it's the least troublesome thing in the ToS. It says that Adobe can review the content your are working on by automated or manual means. That means that if you use any Ai tools, photoshop will upload the file you are working on to be reviewed and it may be reviewed by a person to deem if your content is "appropriate". Now imagine you are working on a unreleased ad campaign for a perfume or a product or a gravure/intimate photoshoot or you are an Onlyfans model, now someone may have and see your files and potentially leak any of those files... it's ridiculous.

That's why I still have my CS8 suite on my Win7 system. And a backup of the system & software.

I really try my best to suspend my disbelief while watching Bridgerton, but as someone who lives and studies racial discrimination in Brazil, seeing them explain it as "love ended racism" is so dumb to me 😂 Especially because they kind of tried this explanation in Brazil. People watch Bridgerton for escapism and ‘happily ever after’ stories, not its riveting social commentary. They should stick to that instead of poorly explaining racism was solved in the Bridgerton universe because of one interracial marriage and inviting black people to the wedding.
